Hustler Magazine: Souless beings destroying my childhood
You know, one of my favorite TV shows growing up was Saved By The Bell. I remember all of the minute details that no one in their right mind has any business remembering. For example, did you know that the A.C. in Slater’s name stands for Albert Clifford? Or that Johnny Dakota was the young “star” doing an anti-drug commercial with the gang before they found out he used drugs as well? Or that Kelly was linked to every guy on the show at some point? And Zack to every girl? I could go all day, really. So imagine my utter disappointment when I found out that Hustler, the bastion of quality movie making and producing, is doing a spoof of SBTB, due out this fall. And the clever title? This Ain’t Saved By The Bell XXX. Great.
While many of the details remain hush-hush at this time, everyone at Hustler Video is getting excited to lampoon this popular television series. With a huge cult following, this silly and often over-the-top teen sitcom focused on a small group of high school kids who dealt with the typical teen issues. With loud clothing, big hair and larger-than-life sets, the original show is a sea of one-liners and stereotypes.
Casting is in the final stages as well as pre-production prep for this parody. The storyline parodies a few episodes and brings back all the characters you know and love. Zack will be joined by Kelly, Slater, Jessie, Lisa and the lovable oddball Samuel “Screech” Powers.
Why? This going to lead to my favorite show being sullied. All of the “Screech”/Zack Attack puns that will follow…saddening. I hope everyone I know either boycotts this movie or never mentions it to me. The day I hear someone describe Mr. Belding’s “O-Face” to me…well, that’s pretty much the day I give up on life.
You know, Miss Bliss would have never stood for these kind of shenanigans.
