Leighton Meester sings…with Robin Thicke?

Leighton Meester Somebody to Love Cover

Robin Thicke? What are you doing?

Okay…so Leighton Meester, of Gossip Girl fame, is apparently a “singer” in the same vein that Cassie Ventura or Scarlett Johannson is a singer; can’t really sing, but looks pretty enough that it doesn’t matter.  So, its no surprise that she would try her hand in the music biz.  What is surprising is that she got Robin Thicke to sing on the song with her.

Yes, that Robin Thicke.

Is money coming slow?  Is that “cocaine” habit he references on his second album really, really true, and very expensive?  Do I need to start a save Robin Thicke charity?

As for the song itself?  Usual pop drivel.  I especially like the part where she never actually sings anything. It sounds like the background music you’d hear while people were in a club on a tv show like Gossip Gir…ah…we’ve come full circle.

You are an idiot. Yes, the song sucks. However, Robin did the song for one reason and one reason only artist. Why do you think Pharrell & Ne-Yo stay working with Lindsay Lohan? Music is a business. And in this economy a check is a check.

Newsflash: Don't comment on things you don't know. "Cocaine" was not about Robin or an alledged habit that he has never had, it was about bringing attention to a lifestyle that has been hidden into the light.

He was not glamorizing or celebrating it. He was making observations. I see drug addicts all the time as a counselor and I thank Mr. Thicke for bringing attention to a serious problem that no one wants to talk about.

Stop spreading lies on those you do not know nor care enough to do research about. Rumors and gossip do not equate to facts. Cause from where I am sitting, you come off as a bitter, hateful, ignorant fool.

Firstly, it was a joke. Calm down. Secondly, of course he did it for the money...I actually imply that even in the joke that is my post.

Thirdly. the whole Robin Thicke cocaine thing is referenced here
    http://www.shoutmouth.com/index.php/news/Robin_Thicke_Explains_%E2%80%98Cocaine%E2%80%99

again as a joke. So, actually I did do my homework. If the only thing I'm guilty of is not conveying that properly to you? I can live with that.

But your accusation of me not doing research before the post and what not...a little hypocritical, no? Especially since you accuse me of not looking into Robin Thicke's background before writing and you didn't look into mine before commenting.

    I'm just sayin.

    Thanks for the comment though.

Somebody's sarcasm meter is broken. And seeing as how 99.9% of the population has no idea who Robin Thicke is, I think whatever we write about him-- good, bad, or ugly-- falls under the category of severely needed publicity. In fact, it's probably safe to say this is the only post on the entire Internet devoted to Robin Thicke today. So... you're welcome.
